Mångata
Deuter's new album Mångata, continues his tradition of blending ambient, world, and new age music. The album’s title, Mångata, refers to the Swedish word for the "moon path," which describes the reflection of the moon’s light on water. This reflects the contemplative and serene nature of the album, evoking feelings of tranquility, connection to nature, and the mysteries of the cosmos.
Motivated by the desire to express deep connection with the natural world and receiving inspiration from it. Deuter is known for creating music that encourages inner peace, healing, and slowing down the madness of this world.
The album invites the listener to feel both grounded and uplifted, much like the connection between the Earth and the moon's reflected light.
Deuter’s motivations for Mångata can be seen as an extension of his lifelong quest to use music as a tool for personal and collective healing, promoting a sense of inner peace and cosmic harmony.
Komorebi
sunlight through the trees
Deuter's newest album is a solo release of classical new age instrumentals with sparse electronics titled Komorebi - Sunlight Through Trees. It features mainly piano, strings, and wind instruments in his unmistakable meditative style, and gives the listener a calming and richly detailed experience. Starting with very basic elements and gathering together a vision of the whole world within the secure embrace of the solar system, which is in itself held warmly by the most remote parts of the universe perceived to be present in all directions. The entire experience is clarifying , refreshing and satisfying.
Song of the Last Tree
There is an event in everyone’s life which can change the direction of your movement in life and have a strong influence in your future. The death of a mother is definitely such a catalyst. For me this was an event that touched me deeply. My way of expressing things is through music. I made a piece in memorial of her and now I am offering it to the world.
Since this happens to nearly everyone (losing a parent) I felt if I could bring a piece of my grief to share with everyone we could all feel a bit more connected. From this song grew an entire album.
The title for the album, “Song of the Last Tree" comes from the growing awareness of our fragile relationship with nature.
*All music composed, performed and recorded by CG Deuter (in Santa Fe, NM).
